DRIVER TRAINING
Working in the trades requires the ability to get to jobsites. And in states where Driver's Ed is not offered in public school systems, being able to afford private lessons becomes a big challenge for low-income students. Therefore, one of our biggest priorities is assisting prospective laborers in acquiring their drivers training and licenses before graduating from high school. Your donation will help cover the costs associated with this process. Together with Boots & Bags, you will help empower CTE construction graduates transport themselves in order to sustain themselves!
THE PROCESS:
STUDENT REQUIREMENTS
1. Student must apply & qualify for driver's training & driver's licensing.
2. Student provides written parent support & consent.
3. Student enrolls online in a program and obtains a certificate.
4. Student visits DMV with required identifcation(s) and takes the permit test.
5. Student completes 6 hours of driving lessons @ licensed driving school.
6. Student drives 50 hours with parent/guardian/adult over 25 years old.
7. After 6 months and 50 hours of driving, student returns to DMV to take test.
8. Student pays for and receives driving license!
